August Literacy Mix

1st:      Respect for Parents Day.  How can you show respect to your parents?  
             Make a list, share with an adult, then practice each thing approved on your list.  
6th:     Independence Day in Jamaica, W.I.  Do some research about the island and 
             share something you learned with a friend.
12th.:   International Youth Day.  Create a plan of action for your community
             then share with community leaders. 
16th.:   National Tell a Joke Day.  Are you good at telling jokes?  Give it a try today. 
19th.:   World Humanitarian Day.  Practice doing nice for someone today.
 28th.: Dream Day.  Martin Luther King Jr. gave the 'I Have a Dream' speech in 1963.  
             Share a dream you have for yourself with someone today.
