June Literacy Mix

June 1st: Stand for Children Day.  Why do you think children are special?
 
June 2nd: Donut Day.  Purchase and eat you favorite donut today.  I love
                anyone with vanilla frosting.

June 10th: Maurice Sendak  and “My Caribbean Grandma's” author
                  Sandra Notice’s birthday. 

June 15th: Fly a Kite Day.  I love kites.  Make a simple one out of any
                 material you can find, then go fly it around your neighborhood.

June 16th: National Fudge Day.  A vanilla fudge is still a special treat for a country girl.  Eat your
                  favorite flavor fudge today or give one to a friend.

June 18th: Father's Day. Find a unique way to celebrate a dad today.

June 19th. Juneteenth. A national celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
                  Write five facts about Juneteenth.

June 21st: First Day of Summer. Yeah!   Write a list of things you want to do this summer.
